GPS Options Mobile

Global Positioning Systems (GPS)
Global postioning is supported on all Simoco SRM/SRP series mobile and portable radios. GPS functionality can be ordered as a factory fitted option or at any stage in the future as a field plug-in option.

PA-LMGPS

This is a fully self contained Speaker Microphone that includes a miniature GPS receiver and antenna. An optional Man Down version also contains an additional sensor to detect a Man Down event.
These microphones plug directly into any SRP9100 series portable without the need for internal hardware modifications or changes. The microphone can be used to provide a major improvement to the health and safety of workers and is especially useful to those who are operating in a lone worker environment.

With these microphones fitted to the portable, radio users can:

  • Remotely locate a portable radio user via GPS positioning using the standard data facilities of the radio
  • GPS data can be sent to a host computer as a numeric text file, or displayed using an appropriate software-mapping package such as the Simoco AVL.
  • Report GPS positions automatically on PTT release, poll from the base or automatically upon Emergency/Alarm event.
  • Report emergency situations using the programmable orange recessed button

MA- ASIGF

This GPS option board can be fitted to the common transceiver platform of the SRM9000 range in the vacant expansion slot inside the radio housing. This means the GPS receiver is protected and powered as an integrated unit within the radio for increased reliability. The board also adds a serial port that can be used to connect third party devices such as a Mobile Data Terminal or Mobile Computer/Peripheral.

  • All GPS data display and handling functions are as described for the portable radio.
  • The GPS option board operates on either conventional or trunked (MPT1327) radio networks.

Desk Top Base
The Desktop console unit is made available for when radio communications need to be stand alone in an office environment.
The Desktop console allows the SRM9010. SRM9020, SRM9022 and SRM9030 to be used as a high or low power desk top base station powered by a 240 Volt Power Supply Unit.

The Desktop console comes in two main variants, a high power unit (8 Amp) or a low power unit (2.5 Amp). The 2.5 Amp variant has an optional back up battery option.

SRS200 Signal logger
The SRS200 Signal Logger is a software tool that can be used to perform simple RF field survey testing by logging a received radio signal and GPS coordinates. The hardware requirements for this system are modest, only a SRM9000 transceiver fitted with an option board, a cable and a computer.

  • The PC can be a laptop for a mobile configuration
  • The SRS200 application can be configured to record the received
signal and GPS location at regular intervals on the PC.
  • A control head may be added for channel change if required.
